FSA Tip #16 Join Things Together With Ampersand And Other Formulas

What is an Ampersand?

An ampersand is the AND symbol. That classic “&” that you can use to save space from all those extra letters that come with AND.

You can use the Ampersand just about the same way in spreadsheets! It unites things to make longer things.

In this video, I’ll show you how to use the Ampersand to build your master product list while making sure everything uses the same formatting and logic.

In this tip, we’ll see …

  • How to use & to join numbers, text, spaces, and other cells
  • How to use the formulas CONCATENATE and JOINTEXT for similar purposes
  • How to start your master product list

You can get the spreadsheet from this tip to follow along at home!

In what circumstances do you like to join things in spreadsheets?
