FSA Tip #17 Take Things Apart With The MID And FIND Formulas

Last tip we joined things together with the Ampersand.

Now we’re going to take them apart.

Unfortunately taking them apart is a little more work.

Fortunately I’ve got you covered with this tip!

In this tip, we’ll see …

  • How to use the MID formula to extract the beginning portion of text in a spreadsheet cell
  • How to use a MID and FIND formula combo to extract the middle portion of text in a spreadsheet cell
  • How to use these formulas in a product list.

You can get the spreadsheet from this tip to follow along at home. There is a secret bonus formula in this sheet to extract the end portion of text in a spreadsheet cell.

When do you like to take things apart in spreadsheets?
